Editorial Policy of the Journal

1.General Provisions

"Journal of Central Asian History, Culture and Politics" is a peer-reviewed open-access academic journal published by the Republican State Institution "Institute of State History" of the Science Committee under the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The journal is published quarterly (March, June, September, December).

The journal publishes previously unpublished scholarly articles that align with its thematic scope and are formatted in accordance with manuscript submission guidelines.

Manuscripts of 3,000–6,000 words (excluding the title, author information, abstract, keywords, and references) are accepted for publication.

2.Manuscript Submission Procedure

The manuscript is submitted by the author or corresponding author via the journal's electronic platform, with all required metadata and author information provided.

Communication between the editorial office, authors, and reviewers at all stages is conducted through the journal's electronic platform, and in exceptional cases, via email.

 3.Peer Review of Manuscripts

All submitted manuscripts undergo mandatory scholarly peer review.

The Editorial Board organizes the peer review of manuscripts and makes one of the following decisions:

  • Accept for publication
  • Send for revision
  • Reject

Reviews are posted by reviewers on the journal's electronic platform.

4.Plagiarism and Textual Borrowing Check

All manuscripts undergo mandatory screening for textual borrowings using the StrikePlagiarism.com system.

Only original manuscripts with an originality level of at least 80% are accepted for further consideration.

Manuscripts that do not meet the journal's formatting or originality requirements are returned to the authors for necessary revisions and resubmission to the Editorial Board via the journal's electronic platform.

5.Publication Ethics and Retraction

The journal adheres to international standards of publication ethics.

In the event of detected violations of publication or research ethics, the Editorial Board reserves the right to decide on the retraction of a publication.

Retraction may be initiated by:

  • the author
  • the journal's Editorial Board

The retraction procedure is carried out in accordance with the guidelines of COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics), as well as the publication ethics principles for journals indexed in Scopus (Elsevier).

6.Open Access Policy

The journal provides free open access to all published content on its official website.

This ensures wide dissemination of research findings and accessibility of materials for the international scholarly community.
